Chapter Summary

Crushing flags and claiming the Villainess• Chapter 100

It was all thanks to his change in strategy that helped him defeat them slowly, rather than using a similar technique of killing them with one strike. Thanks to their brute nature of just attacking their foe straight forward rather than using throwable like those soldiers, back in the first dungeon, Austin didn't have to worry about some unpredictable attacks. The boomerang he had thrown earlier whirled through the air, slicing past the Beast's long ear before curving back toward him.

Chapter 100: Chapter 99- DefeatedIn the middle of the desolate land, between the corpses of several giants, Austin stood.

His chest was heaving with long breaths, sweat droplets trickled down his forehead and his back was completely drenched in sweat as he finally finished the first wave of the Giants.

The dead bodies of the fallen ones were slowly disintegrating into nothingness as Austin, one after another, decimated his foes and cleared the first stage.

[Total points: 326]After defeating thirty giants, he finally gained some decent points.

It was all thanks to his change in strategy that helped him defeat them slowly, rather than using a similar technique of killing them with one strike.

Inflicting several shallow damage until they got extremely slow and agitated before delivering the final strike.

By far, it has been quite useful since these giants don't actually cooperate among themselves.

Often, they end up coming in each other's way or don't help each other out when in need.

Thanks to their brute nature of just attacking their foe straight forward rather than using throwable like those soldiers, back in the first dungeon, Austin didn't have to worry about some unpredictable attacks.

However, now, he was at the stage where he needed to contemplate his next move.

[Mid-boss: Kautr][Points: 500][Rank: B-]Austin exhaled a long sigh as he looked at the twenty-foot-tall Minotaur.

The head of a bull and the body of a caveman.

The whole body of the beast was covered with dark hair, but that hair didn't hide the strong muscles of the inhumane, which were packed with strength.

Holding a club in its hand, it waited for Austin to leave the waiting area so it could lunge into action.

The red-eyed beast huffed through its big nose, visible air erupting every time it exhaled.

Just by looking at it, his past self would have decided to retreat.

After all, Austin's Shard couldn't stand against monsters with such tough skin.

However, now, he is a well-experienced C-rank, or maybe he has already reached B-; he doesn't know.

However, after coming this far and after killing so many mindless giants, Austin knew, he wouldn't get defeated easily by the big guy.

Glancing at the clock he found he had ten seconds left.

"Raijin, Wisp.

" Summoning the two weapons that would be effective against this thick-skinned beast, Austin got prepared.

The countdown neared zero.

Austin took a deep breath, his body ready to move.

He had already planned his first attack—no charging in head-on.

He would go around, take the Beast by surprise, and strike where it hurt the most.

BZZZZHis figure blurred as he threw the boomerang and dashed forward, aiming for the Beast's back, however,TING!

A loud, heavy sound rang in his ears.

Suddenly, his body froze.

A cold shiver crawled up his spine as his vision darkened.

All he could see were two glowing red eyes, burning like fire, staring straight into his soul.

"W-What the hell…"[Alert!

][Your opponent has used the skill 'Blood Lust.

'][The host is paralyzed!

]Austin's breath caught in his throat.

His body refused to move, his instincts screaming in panic.

He hadn't expected the mid-boss to have a skill like this!

And why was his resistance so weak?!

His heartbeat pounded in his ears as the monster took a step forward.

The ground trembled under its weight, each step making his chest tighten.

The air grew heavy, crushing down on him like an invisible force.

The creature's eyes bore into him, its presence drowning out everything else.

And Austin could do nothing but stand there, trapped in its gaze.

"Damn it, I can't go down like this!

"As the Beast's hulking form loomed closer, a desperate idea struck Austin.

Without hesitation, he commanded in his mind—'Wisp!

'SLING!

The boomerang he had thrown earlier whirled through the air, slicing past the Beast's long ear before curving back toward him.

And then—"Khak!

"Austin gasped as Wisp slammed into his stomach, forcing him to stumble back.

Pain flared through his gut, but—[Ding!

][Host has broken free from Blood Lust!

]His lips curled into a grin as he saw the monster stop in its tracks, its oppressive aura vanishing with the skill's cancellation.

Wasting no time, Austin let go of Raijin and launched himself forward at full speed.

The Beast barely had time to react before he grabbed its thick, scaled tail—Then, using the momentum, he flung himself high into the air.

**CRACKLE**As Austin soared through the air, the world seemed to slow.

His body crackled with energy, silver arcs of lightning twisting around him like living serpents.

The moment his fingers tightened around Raijin, the axe responded in kind.

Thunder roared through the sky as the weapon came alive, its blade glowing with a fierce, electric light.

Sparks danced across Austin's arms, wrapping his figure in a storm of power.

The Minotaur barely had the time to raise its club, as it met the axe mid-air and then,**BOOOOOM**A heavy explosion occurred as thunder met sheer strength.

Austin's body was thrown back, flying in an arc, while the beast only stumbled back, but still standing.

**THUD**Austin landed on the ground, rolled away, and after hitting a boulder, his body finally came to a pause.

His clothes were torn from places, and his cheek and arm were bleeding.

His hands were severely damaged by that collision.

"Khuk!

" Austin coughed and along with spit, he coughed blood in a thick amount.

His vision was blurry as he barely remained conscious.

The fatigue from fighting the fodder giants was now hitting in.

And that previous collision surely had caused internal damage for sure.

Turning his head, he saw that the Minotaur has not received a single scratch and was advancing in his direction.

'I guess ...

there is no choice ...

' As such, Austin, for the first time, failed to defeat a boss in his first attempt.

Poor him.

°°°°°°°A/N:- It's not bad that I conclude the battle scene in one chapter, generally, right?

I know I don't write interesting fight scenes that's why I keep it limited T~T
