As the sun rose higher and the temperature became scorching, they reluctantly returned to their guesthouse along the same route.

It's said that going up a mountain is easier than going down, and the path down is indeed more difficult than going up.

However, everyone was in high spirits, making the descent feel even easier than the ascent.
