Chapter Summary
When Huo Yan called out her current name, it was like a sharp sword piercing straight into her heart. She looked neither human nor ghost, and did not even have the most basic and lowest level appearance of a girl. Huo Yan lowered his eyes to look at her, and then he found that Gu Weiman's face had turned pale at some point, with cold sweat on his forehead and his lips were also pale, making him look like he was sick.
When Huo Yan called out her current name, it was like a sharp sword piercing straight into her heart.
It was more like a bomb than a sword. His entire heart, along with his internal organs, nerves, and emotions, were all bombed and turned into ruins.
She looked at the man with disbelief in her eyes.
So Huo Yan can be with anyone?
Even her face was wrapped in gauze. She looked neither human nor ghost, and did not even have the most basic and lowest level appearance of a girl.
Can he really say that?
So maybe everything was just her imagination. It was nonsense for Huo Yan to like her and love her.
She even began to doubt that in the original world.
The man had been wavering between her and Ning Yuetong. Could it be that it was because he had never truly liked either of them?
Gu Weimian felt a sharp pain in his head, and suddenly, he curled up.
Her vision went dark, and she no longer cared whether her back was pressed against the door panel or not. Her whole body went limp little by little.
Huo Yan was stunned. He was still standing there and had no intention of letting go.
Seeing that the girl's jaw was about to dislocate, Huo Yan pursed his lips into a straight line and subconsciously let go.
He squatted down, "Are you okay?"
Gu Weimian lowered his head, his eyes tightly closed, and after a long while, he finally said in a hoarse voice, "I'm fine. Can I go back and rest first?"
She didn't want to stay here anymore, and she didn't want to face Huo Yan again.
She was afraid that if she stayed any longer, she would really die, or even if she didn't die, she would go crazy.
Huo Yan lowered his eyes to look at her, and then he found that Gu Weiman's face had turned pale at some point, with cold sweat on his forehead and his lips were also pale, making him look like he was sick.
He raised his hand and touched Gu Weimian's forehead with the back of his hand.
A burst of scorching heat.
"You have a fever and must be given antibiotics immediately."
The wound on his face must have gotten inflamed.
Gu Weimian shook his head and said, "I'm fine. I'll just go back and have some sleep."
"You know that if a wound continues to become inflamed it can be fatal, right?"
Gu Weimian's expression lightened a bit when he heard this. "Don't worry, this is just a mild reaction to the needle. What I need most now is enough sleep."
After a few seconds, Gu Weimian didn't get a response from Huo Yan. She frowned and looked up at the man.
Huo Yan's face was expressionless. "You also know this?"
His voice was flat, and no emotion could be heard.
When Gu Weiman heard this, his eyelashes trembled rapidly.
The man spoke in a low voice beside her ear: "You surprise me in many ways. Zhenzhen."
Gu Weimian clenched his hands tightly, feeling as if there were thorns in his back, and didn't know how to answer.
Huo Yan saw Gu Weiman's embarrassing situation clearly, and he silently picked Gu Weiman up from the ground.
Gu Weimian's body suddenly lost weight, and his arms subconsciously wanted to wrap around Huo Yan's neck.
He lifted it into the air, but then put it down abruptly.
"I'm really fine. Miss Gu told me about this symptom in detail in advance and told me not to panic."
The man was silent, but he didn't stop walking. He opened the door of the study and slowly walked down from the fourth floor holding Gu Weiman.
Throughout the whole process, the man's arms seemed exceptionally steady.
But the ups and downs of their footsteps still caused the skin of the two people to constantly rub against each other through the thin clothes.
