Kaiden woke slowly, the faint light of dawn filtering through the curtains of his private wing in the Runewoven Guild Hall.

The mountain air was crisp even inside, and he could hear the distant sounds of activity echoing through the corridors.

He lay still for a moment, surrounded by warmth.

Aria was curled against his side with her head resting on his chest.

Nyx had claimed his left arm as a pillow.

Luna sprawled across the foot of the bed with one leg hanging off the edge.

But he heard sounds coming from outside the room.

Kaiden settled into one of the chairs at the small dining table and watched the instructions continue.

Alice mimicked her movements carefully, tongue poking out slightly in concentration as she tried to match the blonde’s precision.

The two girls worked together to prepare what was shaping up to be an impressive breakfast spread.
