Immortal in The Apocalypse

Listening to Zhu Lin’s explanation, Xiu Wu frowned even deeper. He was silent for a long time before saying, "In the future, please don’t do dangerous things recklessly. I hope you will care about your own safety first before you care about the safety of others. Please remember that if something happens to you, I will feel sad. You know I like you. I don’t want anything bad to happen to you, and I can’t stand anything bad to happen to you."

Hearing his words, Zhu Lin fell into silence. Born as a true god, this was the first time someone told her to put her own safety first. Even her elder brother always told her to put the safety of all sentient beings and the Six Realms above her own safety, because it was her responsibility and the reason for her existence.

Zhu Lin touched her heart and felt something warm slowly spreading from her heart. She stared at Xiu Wu blankly for a long time before nodding her head as an answer. Seeing her staring at him dazedly, Xiu Wu sighed helplessly.

He stood up and sat on the bed, then pulled her into his arms and hugged her tightly. Hearing Tan Wei say that she had lured away the mutated insects by herself, Xiu Wu felt cold all over and had only one thought in his mind, which was to find her.

But before he can go find her, Tu Tu finds him and says she is fine and will be back in a few hours. If Tu Tu hadn’t repeatedly reassured him that Zhu Lin was fine, Xiu Wu would have gone out to look for her despite the persuasion of his two best friends.

After calming down, he let her go and asked, "Are you hungry?"

Xiu Wu left the bedroom before she could say anything. Seeing the door closed behind him, Zhu Lin got out of bed and walked to the floor-to-ceiling glass window. Through the glass window, she could only see darkness and the red moon hanging high in the night sky.

She stood there, looking at the red moon silently until Xiu Wu opened the door and walked in with a tray. Seeing her looking out through the glass window and deep in thought, he placed the tray on the low glass table.

Xiu Wu walked up to her and said, "Xiao Lin, come and have something to eat first."

Zhu Lin came back from her thoughts, turned to look at him, and nodded. Seeing that she was about to sit on the floor, Xiu Wu quickly took out a soft carpet he specially found for her before from the Qiankun bag and spread it on the floor.

She watched silently as Xiu Wu took out several floor cushions and arranged them for her. Seeing her standing there while staring at him, Xiu Wu asked, "What are you doing standing there? Quickly come and eat."

After hearing what he said, Zhu Lin sat down on the cushion and started eating. Xiu Wu sat next to her and watched her eating with a smile on his lips. After she finished her dinner, he cleared the plates and bowls.

Before he could stand up, Zhu Lin suddenly asked, "What do you like about me?"

Xiu Wu was stunned when he heard her sudden question. He sat down, looked at her, and said seriously: "I love everything about you."

After saying that, he reached out and held some of her long hair, and then kissed her hair, as if her hair was a precious treasure. He raised his eyes and stared into her eyes for a while before saying, "I just love you. There is no reason."

Seeing Zhu Lin just looking at him calmly, Xiu Wu raised his eyebrows slightly. Normally, she would blush after he said something like this. But now, she just looked at him quietly.

Xiu Wu felt something was wrong, so he gently touched her cheek and asked with a frown, "What’s wrong?"

Zhu Lin shook her head and said, "Nothing."

Seeing that she didn’t want to tell him about it, Xiu Wu smiled slightly and said, "You should go to sleep now. Good night, Xiao Lin."

After leaving these words, Xiu Wu stood up, carried the tray, and left the bedroom. After he closed the door, Zhu Lin looked out of the glass window. Just now, when Xiu Wu was carefully preparing the carpet and cushions for her, Zhu Lin saw the figure of the Devil God merging with Xiu Wu’s figure.

She remembered that the Devil God also always treated her sincerely. He was clumsy in expressing his feelings. But from his movements and body language, she could sense his feelings and sincerity for her.

Just because the two of them had different positions and were destined to be enemies, she didn’t dare to accept his feelings, nor did she dare to admit her own feelings. But now, meeting him again in this small world, she still dares not accept him because she knows that he will become the Devil God again one day.
