After the five captains left the small tent, the commander let out a long sigh. He took out the necklace hanging around his neck, and opened the pendant.

Looking at the small picture inside the pendant, he whispered softly: "Don’t worry, baby. Father will take you out of there as soon as possible. Just hang on for a little bit longer."

An hour later, six groups of people left that area and moved toward different directions. With the Wu Lin base as their final destination, everyone has different motives, but they have the same determination in their eyes.

Not knowing that danger is coming, the residents of the Wu Lin base live a peaceful daily life. Early the next morning, an administrative staff member visited Lei Zhicheng at his home in Sector B.

Knock, knock, knock.

Hearing the knock on the door, Lei Zhicheng climbed out of bed sleepily and said in a hoarse voice: "Coming."

When the door opened, the administrative staff member blushed at the sight of his naked upper body. Lei Zhicheng looked at her and asked, "Who are you? Do you need something?"

The administrative staff member coughed lightly, looked away from his naked chest, and said with a slightly red cheek: "Captain Lei, I’m sorry to disturb you so early in the morning. I’m here to inform you that your request to visit the East District has been approved. When you are ready, I will take you there."

Hearing what she said, Lei Zhicheng’s eyes lit up and he said, "Please wait a moment."

After saying that, he closed the door and quickly got dressed. Sleeping on the bunk bed in the corner, Bai Ziyu opened his eyes, looked at his friend and asked, "Are you going somewhere?"

"Mhm. I’m going to meet my elder brother." Lei Zhicheng replied while tying his weapon on his belt.

After hearing what he said, Bai Ziyu sat up and asked, "Do you need me to accompany you?"

Lei Zhicheng, carrying his backpack, looked at Bai Ziyu and said, "No need. If I don’t come back in two hours, you can do a mission with the others first. Don’t wait for me."

"All right. Be careful when you are in the East District. Bai Ziyu reminded him.

Lei Zhicheng nodded and said, "Mhm, I know. I’m leaving."

After saying that, he opened the door and left with the administrative staff member. Looking at the closed door, Bai Ziyu murmured: "Captain, I wish you all the best."

After saying that, he lay back on the bed, covered his head with the quilt, and continued to sleep. It’s rare for their captain to go out and leave them alone. He had to take this chance and get some more sleep.

Leaving Sector B, the administrative staff member and Lei Zhicheng walked towards the gate of the Wu Lin Base. Looking at the long queue in front of the huge metal gate, the administrative staff member led Lei Zhicheng towards another smaller gate.

Seeing her walking over with Lei Zhicheng, a guard nodded to the administrative staff member and asked, "Is he the one who is going to the East District?"

The administrative staff member nodded, handed him a document and said, "I have applied for a team of escorts. Time is tight, so please arrange it as soon as possible."

The guard took the document, looked at it for a while, and said, "All right. Please wait a moment."

After the guard walked away, the administrative staff member looked at Lei Zhicheng and said, "Because the last group of high-ranked zombies that join our base are still under some kind of mind control ability, for safety reasons, we need someone to escort us to the East District."

Lei Zhicheng did not speak, but looked thoughtfully at the greenery behind the open gate. After arriving at the Wu Lin base, he only walked through this black wall twice. The first time was when he first arrived at the Wu Lin base and was sent to the hospital, and the second time was yesterday when he went to inform Xiu Wu about the parasites.

Judging from the strict security measures, there must be many important secrets hidden behind this high black metal wall. Just as he was speculating, the guard came back with a group of mercenaries.

Looking at the badges on their clothes, the administrative staff member smiled and said to them: "I feel honored to be escorted by members of the Ming Wei Mercenary Squad."

Hearing her words, Wei Bai smiled and said, "Thank you for your kind words. Should we leave now?"

The administrative staff member nodded and the group walked through the metal gate. An hour later, the group arrived at the entrance of the East District. Seeing them coming, the two high-ranked zombies, who were basking in the sun, sat up from the lounge chairs.

One of the zombies smiled stiffly at Wei Bai and said in a hoarse voice: "Wei Bai, it’s rare for you to come to our place these days. Has your captain finally given you a holiday?"

Wei Bai smiled and said, "I came here on a mission today."

"Mission?" The zombie asked in confusion.

Seeing that the zombies just looked at them with confused expressions, the administrative staff member handed over the document to them and said, "With permission from Captain Xiu, we are here to visit Young Master Lei Haozhan today."

After reading it, the zombie returned the document to her and said, "I understand. The boss was at his home. You can just go there directly."

After the administrative staff member thanked the zombie, she handed the document to Lei Zhicheng and said, "Captain Lei, I will only accompany you until here. If you need any help, please contact the guards and they will notify us."

Lei Zhicheng took the document and said, "Thank you for your help."

The administrative staff member smiled and said, "Everyone, I will take my leave first."
