Immortal in The Apocalypse

After many twists and turns, Wan Shengye finally saw the tall fence in the distance and thought the rumors were right. It is really not easy to enter this Wu Lin base without a guide.

With Ji Yang leading the way, they smoothly drove past the tall metal gate and the thick wall. Ji Yang knew that his elder cousin would live in their base in the future, so he specially prepared a villa with a basement for him. Since Kong Yixun and Wan Shengye want to join them, he will let them use their abilities to the fullest.

Parking the car in front of the villa door, Ji Yang got out of the car and walked to Wan Shengye. Wan Shengye lowered the car window when he saw her coming, and Ji Yang said, "Major General Wan, I have prepared this villa for you and my elder brother. When Zhu Lin walked through the gate, she saw the crowd of people there waiting with expectation on their faces and asked, "Xiu Wu, are all these people going to work on the farmlands?"

Xiu Wu nodded and said, "Yes. Ten people are responsible for each farm, and a shift system is implemented with five workers for each shift."

Zhu Lin nodded, saw a group of ordinary people following a staff, and asked, "Have you separated ordinary people from supernatural beings?"

Ji Yang heard her question and said, "Yes. We should separate them to prevent supernatural beings from using their abilities to bully, take advantage of, and intimidate ordinary people. After all, Lao Xiu hopes that everyone will get the results they deserve through hard work."

The supervisor looked at the workers and said, "Your working time is from six in the morning to five in the evening. You will be provided with a meal for lunch. Those who cause trouble and violate regulations will be fired, have their residency status revoked, and must leave the base immediately."

After speaking, the supervisor observed the workers’ expressions for a while and continued: "Today, our staff will take you to visit the farm you are responsible for. Please follow them and make sure to remember your farm’s location. Starting tomorrow, you will make your way to the farm, where our staff will check on the condition of the farm every day. If we discover that you have not reported to work without notice, you will be dismissed and replaced by someone else."

After explaining the general rules, the supervisor chatted with other staff for a while, and then the staff started calling the team number. When the workers heard their numbers being called, they quickly stood behind the staff. After a few minutes, the staff left with a group of workers one after another.

After everyone left, Xiu Wu and the others decided to return to the villa for breakfast. Before they could pass through the metal gate, sirens blared throughout the base. As soon as the alarm sounded, the guards guarding the wall raised their weapons, while other guards rushed to the fence in groups.

While the sirens were still echoing around, Zhu Lin discovered that ordinary people seemed very calm. Most of them came out of the shell houses just to have a look out of curiosity, while the rest just continued doing what they needed to do as if nothing happened.

Seeing their calm behavior, she raised her eyebrows slightly and said, "I’m a little surprised that these people can be so calm at this moment."

Hearing what she said, Tan Wei smiled and said, "Of course, they are very calm. That is because our guards are all supernatural beings. Even if zombies attack now, we can defend our base without any problem."
