Invincible Copy System

Chapter Summary
Even if something incredibly valuable appeared, it probably wouldn't have actively let him copy it. However, the octopus monster had reached that level in a very short time, which astonished Liu Ning. Liu Ning secretly touched it with something and discovered that this white substance was extremely corrosive, even more so than sulfuric acid, the most powerful chemical known to humans.
Having worked with the system for so long, Liu Ning naturally understood how it worked. In the past, it would never have been so active, because the system wouldn't have acted this way. Even if something incredibly valuable appeared, it probably wouldn't have actively let him copy it. For example, in Windmill City, nothing was more valuable than those things; Liu Ning was dealing entirely with cash. If other things could be exchanged for money, wouldn't it be better to just copy a huge pile of cash? But back then, the system didn't respond at all, simply letting Liu Ning choose. Now it was completely different. Everything here had names Liu Ning had never heard of. The fact that he hadn't heard of them meant they were extremely valuable. However, Liu Ning wasn't in a hurry to copy them. He just strolled around slowly, looking for anything useful. He knew what he was doing; otherwise, things would be difficult.
Liu Ning also discovered some other things in the room. These things looked like freshly shed skin; they crunched when Liu Ning stepped on them, indicating they had been shed for a long time. Liu Ning analyzed them using the system, and what he found astonished him: they all belonged to the octopus monster! This was truly terrifying. It meant that this creature had only grown here for a short time, and had developed through molting. This was truly astonishing. If it had grown through normal cultivation, Liu Ning wouldn't be surprised, as such things are common in nature. Even with a slight suspicion, it wouldn't be like this. But this situation was completely different. Liu Ning felt his heart pounding. Could it have truly devoured something and rapidly grown into such a ferocious beast? If so, it would be a fatal matter for all humanity—that was the most important thing.
Liu Ning examined the entire room and discovered many shed skins, all belonging to the octopus monster. He then searched online and learned that the octopus monster's evolution wasn't like this. Like other ferocious beasts, it evolved gradually, a slow process. However, the octopus monster had reached that level in a very short time, which astonished Liu Ning. His previous guesses were all correct. But how did it become like this? Liu Ning didn't know what it had devoured. If this substance was rare, it would be meaningless to the ferocious beasts outside. If it was abundant, such creatures would appear repeatedly in the ancient ruins, making it impossible to let people in. If geniuses were let in, they wouldn't even be able to fight back against a powerful creature like the octopus monster. What would be the point of letting them in?
Liu Ning couldn't explain what was happening before him, so he could only carefully collect these items and give them to outsiders for further study. If they had the equipment from the research institute, they might be able to unravel the mystery, but that wasn't the case now. So, Liu Ning could only observe slowly. If he could understand everything, it would be a great thing for everyone. But the problem was, he wasn't a scientific researcher, and he had never encountered anything like this before. Just based on what he saw, explaining it clearly was probably impossible. That's why Liu Ning was searching for more information around him. The more detailed the information he could bring back, the more likely the researchers would be to solve the mystery. This concerned the future of all humanity, so Liu Ning had to be very careful. He couldn't leave anything out; doing so would be detrimental to him. This was the most frustrating situation.
After walking a few more steps, Liu Ning discovered another room. This room was slightly smaller than the previous one, and it contained the same molted remains. Liu Ning carefully picked them up and examined them, noticing a lot of dust and many ancient veins. This indicated that this was a room from a previous evolutionary period. It seemed that the octopus monster hadn't evolved only once. This made sense, as all previous octopus monsters could only reach the level of advanced warriors. To reach a higher level, they had to mutate. Even with mutation, they could only reach the level of advanced general. It was impossible for an octopus monster to exist like this. The octopus monster from before had already reached the level of an invincible war god. To rise to that level, it would have to mutate countless times, which violated some biological theories. Therefore, such a thing was absolutely impossible. It must have swallowed something to eventually become like this, a point Liu Ning was very certain of.
The kitten noticed some white substances nearby, but didn't know what they were for. Besides these, there were the corpses of some ferocious beasts, all covered in this white substance. Liu Ning secretly touched it with something and discovered that this white substance was extremely corrosive, even more so than sulfuric acid, the most powerful chemical known to humans. He wondered what was going on with these things; they looked like snow, and they were devouring the bones. These ferocious beasts were incredibly strong; even if you corroded their flesh, their bones would remain hard. But now, these bones had all turned into a puddle of pus. What had happened here? If the intention was to create more powerful beasts, they couldn't just kill them all here again, could they? Logically, that didn't make sense. Everyone felt their minds were blank, and Liu Ning also felt that some things were simply inexplicable.
