Chapter Summary
Even when they attack human cities, they only attack a few cities and would never take down all the cities on the land. Therefore, human society set up one war base after another in these places, and their mission was to stop these sea monsters from advancing. For some strong warriors, they can still hide for more than ten minutes and try not to give these sea monsters time to kill them.
The war between humans and sea monsters has begun again. If this conflict is not resolved quickly, it will drag humanity down with it. Therefore, in the current situation, regardless of whether humans are prepared for this war, they must continue to fight. The sea monsters have sensed the danger in the ocean, so they also need to find their own living space.
Ocean beasts and land beasts have always been completely different. Land beasts can at least coexist with humans. Even when they attack human cities, they only attack a few cities and would never take down all the cities on the land. But ocean beasts are different. They have no compromise with humans, and there is only war between them.
Human society reacted strongly to such a ferocious sea beast. Since it only wanted us to die, then we had to make them die. Only one side of the pristine sky could survive. If you thought you could coexist here, it was simply impossible.
Humans set up numerous bunkers in coastal cities, but it was impossible to defend the entire ocean line. They could only defend the places where the ocean entered the inland, such as the estuaries of some major rivers. Sea monsters could not stay on land for long, so these were their channels of attack. Therefore, human society set up one war base after another in these places, and their mission was to stop these sea monsters from advancing.
For humans in the past, war bases were sufficient. Despite the ferocious sea beasts' menacing appearance, they were not very powerful. If they were to come to the ground, they would die of dehydration within five minutes. Moreover, these sea beasts could not breathe fresh water, so our land was still very safe.
However, by this point, the evolution of the marine beasts has been astonishing. They have adapted to living in freshwater, although they can't sustain it for very long. But if given a few hours, all of our war bases could be destroyed, which humanity has invested a great deal of money in.
Coastal areas have many plains, which are also the main food-producing areas for humans. If these areas were to be completely occupied by ferocious sea monsters, human food production would decrease by more than 40%. If such a large reduction were to occur, how would the remaining humans survive? Could they simply bask in the sun all day without eating? That would be impossible.
The sea monsters are now more active than they were ten years ago. Originally, they only attacked some humans in coastal areas, but the casualties were not very high. This was mainly because they could not live on land. Even if they came ashore, they would only be there for a few minutes. As long as you could survive those few minutes, you could still guarantee a year's production.
But now, with the evolution of these sea monsters, they can stay on land for more than ten minutes. For some strong warriors, they can still hide for more than ten minutes and try not to give these sea monsters time to kill them. But for ordinary people, those ten minutes can be the death of them.
Take the speed of movement of both sides as an example. Even if ordinary people have relatively strong physical fitness, they can only run 100 meters in about 11 seconds, and they can only maintain that distance for a very short time. This is far behind the speed of movement of marine animals. Therefore, in the current situation, we must take action against the marine beasts in the coastal areas. Otherwise, we will be so weak that we will be lying on the beach and at the mercy of others. This is not what people by the sea want.
Both sides have crossed the line in their struggle for living space. Take humans, for example. Over the years, they have never given up on the marine beasts and have been developing various drugs in the hope of injecting them directly into the seawater to kill the marine beasts. Although this has not achieved our expected goal, many of the marine beast cubs have indeed died.
Although this research cost a lot of money, it was well worth the expense for humanity as a whole. We only need to research a portion of the poison and then slowly release it into the ocean. Since there are hardly any seafood products left, once we release these poisons into the ocean, the cubs of the marine monsters will not survive.
Some people say that the water vapor will carry it to the land, but the world is already riddled with holes. Our priority should be to eliminate these ferocious beasts. If you are still concerned about the environment of the world, then you have a really wild imagination. You are about to be deprived of your right to eat, so why would you care about the environment in different places?
